Reeve Coobs

The daughter of guitar maker Jack Coobs and ever-lovin’ music fan Caydea, Reeve grew up immersed in music. She started her musical adventures in church choirs and garage bands. She went to King College for a few years with a vocal scholarship before leaving to pursue her love of songwriting. Reeve honed her skills to become an established singer-songwriter and performer in Charlotte. In 2005 she won Creative Loafing Reader’s Pick award for Best Female Vocalist. She was in The award-winning (and local favorite) band Then Near Misses for 4 years. She now fronts her own band and is 1/5 of the rock group gogoPilot.

 For years Reeve had been baby-sitting and nannying to pay the bills while she toured around the south-east with The Near Misses. In 2008 she decided to leave “The Misses” and become a registered Music Together Teacher. She has been teaching ever since and has loved having the opportunity to share her love and passion for music with children and families throughout the Charlotte area.
